Lowe Rental Acquires Equipment Resource & Solutions Inc.

The company’s latest acquisition extends Lowe Rental U.S. footprint into the Northeast, bolstering refrigeration expertise and accelerating expansion in convenience and small-format retail.

Lowe Rental announces the acquisition of Equipment Resource & Solutions (ERS), a U.S. commercial refrigeration distributor, project management and installation specialist serving the convenience store, small-format retail and foodservice sectors. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Operating since 2008 from Ivyland, Pennsylvania, ERS specializes in turnkey refrigeration programs for store rollouts, remodels and retrofits. With their technical expertise spanning commercial refrigeration, walk-in coolers and freezers, modular cabinetry and shelving.

Strengthening Northeast Operations

Lowe Rental supports most of the major household names in grocery retail, with refrigeration rental services for store remodels, e-commerce fulfilment, HFC retrofit programs and equipment replacement projects. Delivered from established U.S. operations in Georgia and Texas, the fully managed rental service provides commercial refrigeration equipment across large store networks nationwide.

With continued investment in its fleet, and with a substantial customer base already established across the U.S., Lowe Rental’s acquisition of ERS adds the highly experienced ERS team and warehouse capacity needed to continue building on our service to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

“We are delighted with the acquisition of Equipment Resource & Solutions. Tim and his team bring close to 20 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, complex installations and retail rollouts, together with the warehouse capacity and project management capability to support our national programs. That combination makes ERS a strong operational fit for us.”

Richard Epton, Chief Operating Officer, U.S., Lowe Rental

ERS bring a wealth of c-store knowledge to our US operations. There are excellent synergies between both companies, reflected in our approach to customer service, our reputation with trusted brands and the quality of refrigeration we supply. That alignment creates a natural route to extend our services further into more c-store operators, and I am looking forward to seeing our two teams in front of customers together.”

Rachel McCausland, Chief Executive Officer, Lowe Rental

Building on a strong foundation

Equipment Resources will continue to operate from Ivyland under its existing management team, Tim Lowery, Mark DeFeo and Steve McGuigan.

“This is an exciting time for our business, we are joining a company that has operated in the U.S. since 1990 and shares our focus on technical expertise, practical experience and a commitment to delivering an excellent service.   Joining Lowe Rental means we can keep doing that with a great deal more behind us: an expanded equipment fleet from global suppliers, monitoring technology and the ability to take on programs at a scale.”

Tim Lowery, General Manager, Equipment Resource & Solutions
